2008 Heatwave Committee Members:

Edward DeWees III

Edward DeWees, III is the founder and co-chairman of the tournament and is carrying on a family legacy in philanthropy by supporting the children of Boysville. His grandfather, Edward DeWees Sr., was one of the founding community members who helped support the Reverend Don Holiman in establishing Boysville, a home for children. Edward has been on the Board of Directors for Boysville since 2005.

A graduate of Alamo Heights High School and attended the University of Incarnate Word, Mr. DeWees is active in his church, First Presbyterian. Through his church he volunteers for the CAM shelter, the SAMM’s shelter and Habitat for Humanity. He is also a member of Respite Care and on the Board of Directors of the University of Incarnate Word.

Among his greatest accomplishments are his marriage to Robin and his two children. Edward coaches his daughter’s T-ball team and is very active in the children’s schools.

Mark Meador

Mark Meador is the co-chair for the Heatwave Charity Golf Tournament. Mark has been active with the tournament for five years and is a member of the Boysville Board of Directors and serves on the Executive Committee and Campus Life Committee.

Mark is the Director of Investor Relations at NuStar. Previously he was employed by Valero Energy since 2002 and with Arthur Andersen for nearly seven years before that. Mark also attends First Presbyterian Church and is involved with United Way and Habitat for Humanity.

A graduate from TCU, Mark is married to Christy with two kids, and enjoys hunting, fishing, sports, reading and spending time with his children.

Robin DeWees

Robin Hatfield DeWees, a graduate of the University of Texas Arlington, is a Senior Partnership Executive for Harland Clarke Inc., responsible for the southwest region of Texas. She comes to San Antonio by way of Weatherford Texas, Austin, California and back to Austin where she met her husband Edward. They have been married for 9 yrs and have two children, Camille Joy (7) and Edward DeWees IV "Bo" (5).

Robin is an active member of the Battle of Flowers Association, Laurel Heights Garden Club, Los Compadres Committee, San Antonio Junior League Sustainer, CAMM Ministries and First Presbyterian Church where she is Sunday School teacher and VBS volunteer.

Robin caught the same passion for the Boysville Inc. organization that her husband felt 9 yrs ago when he decided to find a way to "serve his community and honor his grandfather.

"When we did our first tournament nine years ago, my husband and I sat in bed and addressed invitations for a few friends to play golf and help raise a little bit of money," said Robin. "I never imagined this little gesture would would turn into this fabulous event benefiting so many wonderful children...a true blessing!

Aaron Bengochea

Aaron Bengochea is a former PGA Tour Player (2000) and a sales representative for Presidio Title. Aaron graduated from the University of the Pacific and is married to Kristin with two children, Sophie and Ethan.

Brooks Holzhausen

Brooks Holzhausen is a mortgage broker and real estate agent with Rubiola Mortgage & Realty Co. Brooks recently joined the Boysville Board of Directors in 2007. Brooks is married with two daughters and enjoys doing anything outdoors.

Teresa Hackebeil

Teresa Hackebeil works with Clear Channel Communications Corporate in the Risk Management Department. Teresa first became aware and interested in Heatwave Golf Tournament for Boysville when her music trio was hired to play for one of the tournament events. She has been the entertainment chair for two years now.

Teresa is the mother of three boys originally from Hondo, TX. Teresa can be found rocking with her band, Daddy Rabbit, in her spare time.

Judy Jackson

Judy Jackson is currently the marketing director at USAA. Prior to joining USAA, Judy was a partner at IdeaBox Marketing Group culminating more than 16 years of marketing and advertising experience.

A graduate of Southwest Texas State, Judy began her career at KENS-TV before moving to Austin to work for the Texas Prevention Partnership, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing drug and alcohol abuse. More than a decade later, Judy continues to give back to the community through several committees and organizations, including the Heatwave Charity Golf Tournament benefiting Boysville, the Junior League of San Antonio, the Cancer Community Council and the American Red Cross. Judy loves to spend time with her husband Steven and her son Aidan.

Collie Owens

Collie Owens is the President of South Texas Sage Capital, a mortgage company. Collie has been involved with the Heatwave Charity Golf Tournament for over four years.

Collie has two daughters. When not working, Collie is an avid deep sea fisherman.

Robert A. Renner, Jr.

Robert A. Renner, Jr. is a civil engineer with Cobb Fendley & Associates, Inc. Robert has a civil engineering degree from Vanderbilt University and a MBA from St. Mary’s University. Robert is married to Chandler and they have three children (daughter Ashley, 3 and twin sons Trey and Andrew, 4 months).

Robert played baseball while at Vanderbilt. Originally from Houston, Robert moved to San Antonio over 10 years ago.

Beth Reinhardt

Beth Reinhardt is the Director of Community Relations for Boysville. Beth has worked on the Heatwave Charity Golf Tournament for four years and is amazed at the growth of the tournament. “This group, all with different backgrounds, rally together to put on a fun tournament that benefits the children of Boysville,” said Beth.

A Texas A&M graduate, Beth is married with three children and enjoys attending their sporting events. Not only does she work at Boysville, she coaches a pee-wee basketball team at Boysville and is a member of The Junior League of San Antonio, Inc.

Lance Surovik

Lance Surovik is a Certified Residential Appraiser and partner with Capitol Valuation Group, covering central Texas and the IH-35 corridor from Georgetown to Lytle. Previously, Lance was with Verappraise as the lead appraiser for the San Antonio office. Lance volunteers as a little league coach for Alamo Heights Little league.

Another Texas A&M graduate, Lance enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and golfing.
